  • This play is inspired by the true story of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin: “Wise heads of families, governors for young people, sons and daughters in Provinces, once you have finished with your noisy embraces, let me please inform you something that History does not mention. I am going to tell you a piece of news which you may have not expected and that relates the life of the one you all too easily call Molière”.A contemporary of Molière is finally revealed to us in our century. He returns to finish his incomplete work and restore a number of truths…The life and work of the acclaimed playwright is brought to life through paintings and music. The characters taken out of the pages of their scripts are turned into puppets to re-enact Molière’s life and give rise to a fascinating, humorous and fast-moving show. This show was awarded during the 2017 Puppet Theatre World Festival winning the Coup de Coeur prize of the OFF festival in theatrical venues.Duration: 1h.  Due to a limited number of seats, booking with the Cultural Department is highly recommendedFunded by the municipality of Saint-Affrique and the Aveyron Departmental BoardAround the show:-Mediation workshops as part of the “Theatre au Collège” policy proposed by the Aveyron Departmental Board-Display of an exhibition on Molière housed in the Puppet SpaceWriting, scenography, directing, puppeteering and acting: Léna ChkondaliOriginal music composed and performed by Sébastien MénardOutside views: Laëtitia Labre et Frédérique HenryManufacture of screen sets, props, masks and puppets: Amélie Madeline, Léna Chkondali and Sébastien MénardPictorial creations: Mégane SeyllerStage manager: Sébastien Ménard
